Beyonce and her mother Tina Lawson have offered their heartfelt tributes to Mary Twala, the veteran actress who starred in the former’s visual album Black Is King

Mary – mother to entertainer Somizi – made her final screen debut with her role as ‘Rafiki’ on Bey’s acclaimed release last week.

Now the superstar’s mother Tina has claimed that the pair were touched by Mary’s screen portrayal and were saddened by her death.

Sharing a picture of Mary on her Instagram page, Tina wrote: “Beyonce shared the sad news about this wonderful legend Mary Twala, who played the elder in the film (Rafiki) that she had passed on

“It is very interesting that in the film the poetry says “the elders are tired”. May she REST in eternal Peace”.
