Radio presenter Redi Tlhabi has taken legal action against a tweep who threatened to rape her after he disagreed with her opinions on Twitter

The 702 star trended on Monday after she publicly outed a man who responded to her tweets with threats that he would ‘rape’ and ‘hijack’ her.

In a tweet that left the timeline shook, Redi not only named and shamed the man, but she also claimed he attempted to conceal his identity by using a fake profile.

Redi also questioned if the man’s fiance and employer knew of his vile plans.

She tweeted: “Morning Bonisile T from George. 1) You should not hijack someone else’s image 2) If you are going to make rape threats, you need to make it harder for anyone to identify you 3) Does your fiance Nombuso know that you make rape threats on Twitter? Does your employer know?”

In tweets that followed, Redi claimed she had contacted the man’s employer and had reported the incident to the SAPS for investigation.

Tweeps responded in disgust at the man’s verbal attack.

One tweep even claimed that the man had made threats against another public profile – former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.

Following the outrage, Redi appealed to her followers not to jeapordise her case by sharing the man’s picture online as a legal process is currently underway.

The man has since deleted his Twitter profile.
