Two brothers aged three and ten miraculously escaped major injury after they escaped a fire in their third floor apartment by jumping out of a window…

The children, who live in the southeastern French city of Grenoble, were caught by a group of onlookers who had gathered in the street below. They each fell approximately 10 metres from the window.

The dramatic incident was filmed by a member of the public and shared on social media. The footage quickly went viral.

The boys were taken to hospital, but were not badly injured. French media reported that they may have suffered from smoke inhalation. Seventeen other residents of the building were also taken to hospital.

According to reports, French authorities are investigating why the boys had been left at home alone, and the parents may face prosecution for “neglect”.
