Prince George is celebrating his 7th birthday today, and we can only imagine how his late grandmother Princess Diana is beaming down at him
George – who is Prince William’s firstborn and third in line to the throne – has won the hearts of the public with his adorable personality and bashful smile, just like Di did many years ago.
And royal fans think it’s no co-incidence, insisting George is more similar to his late maternal grandmother than imagined.
Take a look at 5 ways George is so alike to his late beloved grandmother Diana….
Funny & fiesty – just like Di
Prince George’s godmother Julia Samuel claims the young boy is ‘funny, fiesty and cheeky’, just like Diana, who was a godmother to her son.
The duo also share a super shy and sensitive side, when out in public. George is often pictured avoiding the glare of cameras and withdrawing from public attention, unlike his extrovert sister Princess Charlotte who is often spotted engaging with the press and spectators.
Sense of humour
George and Di also share a similar sense of humour. Prince William claimed that George has a ‘naughty habit’ of finding and opening his birthday and Christmas prezzies ahead of time, just like his mom.
In a letter to a friend, Diana claimed that she ‘could not be trusted’ with surprises. She wrote: “I could not resist opening my present, as a parcel of any shape or form has never been safe with me”.
George also loves practical jokes, just like Di and is often getting up to mischief behind closed doors.

He loves dancing
George is big on dancing, just like Diana. William revealed the young prince avidly took up ballet and other dance lessons, which he adores.
“George is doing dancing as well, he loves it. And it’s kind of… my mother always used to dance, she loved dancing,” William said during a public engagement.
