According to a press statement, Mary Twala’s funeral will take place on Thursday 9 July…
The service, which will be held at a venue in Soweto and will not be open to the public but will be streamed live on various platforms between 07:30 and 09:30.
“Due to the current global pandemic of Covid19, the funeral will adhere to the current national funeral restrictions of only 50 attendees allowed, together with the necessary health protocols being observed. No members of the public may attend the funeral,” the statement reads in part.
News of Mary Twala’s death broke on Sunday
Her son, Somizi, shared a post on social media, writing: “Today is my late father’s birthday, and my mom decided to respond to his call to join him in heaven. The tree has fallen.”
