The more willing a husband is to do housework, the more attractive his wife will find him. Like we needed a study to tell us this…
In the TEDx talk below, writer Jenna McCarthy shares surprising research on how marriages (especially happy marriages) really work. Researchers really did find that women are more attracted to their partners when they do housework. We could have told them this for free though.
In this hilarious 10-minute talk, McCarthy outlines some of the other keys that help keep couples together – even if they do argue over which why the toilet paper roll should face.
“It doesn’t take a double-blind, placebo-controlled study to figure out what makes a marriage not work: disrespect, boredom, too much time on Facebook, having sex with other people,” says McCarthy. “But you can have the exact opposite of all of those things – respect, excitement, a broken Internet connection, mind-numbing monogamy – and the thing still can go to hell in a handbasket. So, what’s going on when it doesn’t?”
