US President, Donald Trump, and the First Lady, Melania, were touring the Saint John Paul II National Shrine in Washington D.C. on Tuesday when they paused for a photo opportunity…
The footage that has gone viral on social media appears to show Trump telling his dead-pan wife to smile. The resultant ‘grimace’ has got Twitter in a tizz.
Trump and Melania laid a ceremonial wreath and observed “a moment of remembrance” at the shrine amidst mass protests in the US over police brutality against black people in the country. The protests were ignited by the death of George Floyd at the hands of a police officer. His death has since been ruled a homicide.
Here’s what Twitter had to say about the viral photo op:
The camera can, contrary to the cliche, sometimes lie, but I have watched this over and over and there is something mesmerisingly worrying about Melania Trump’s face in this. https://t.co/e3nRq7JiAy
