Prince Kaybee is not buying Black Coffee’s explanation for his shady behaviour on Twitter

The musicians were both trending on Twitter on Thursday after Black Coffee responded to a tweet that Prince Kaybee posted about celebrities trying to sound “wise”.

“The problem is that celebrities fall for the same trap all the time, ‘the urge to sound wise’.

“You watch a few YouTube videos you wanna sound intelligent. Carry on, you will meet your maker,” Prince Kaybee wrote.

Twitter users believed that the Gugulethu hitmaker’s post was in response to the drama between DJ Euphonik and a financial adviser.

Euphonik was slammed on Twitter this week for encouraging his followers to buy property during the COVID-19 pandemic if they can afford to do so.

While Euphonik ignored Prince Kaybee’s tweet, Black Coffee stepped into the mix to add his two cents.

“Here’s a question without the “urge of sounding intelligent “… are you a celebrity?” the Pieces of Me hitmaker replied.

Twitter users slammed Black Coffee’s reply. They accused him of being a “bully” and showing his true colours.

“Black Coffee is being unnecessary and rude. If Prince Kaybee is not a celebrity then Black Coffee is not a celebrity too,” one Twitter user wrote.

Things got worse when Black Coffee tried to explain what he meant when he tweeted the seemingly shady post.

“In your statement you were excluding yourself as a celebrity hence my question. I wasn’t fighting, I wish you spent time understanding it. But manje sila… wishing you all the best.”

But Prince Kaybee hit back. He claimed that Black Coffee has always disliked him

He shared a screenshot of a conversation between Black Coffee and DJ Euphonik where they allegedly refer to him as a “house n***er”.

A ‘house ni**er” is a derogatory term used to describe a black person who allegedly likes pleasing white people.

“This actually hurt me I don’t wanna lie, deleting the tweet was substandard and cowardly. But like I said be careful of your black heroes, some are NOT interested in your growth AT ALL!!  They call black people names for white acceptance. Hosh,” Kaybee wrote.

One of singer’s fans replied: “Looks like our hero is a horrible person. I was hurt on your behalf… I think he owes you an apology.”

Prince Kaybee produced more receipts as proof that Black Coffee is not a fan of him or his music

“I don’t want his apology, Black Coffee has always disliked me, a few years ago I won an award of a category he wanted at the Metrofm awards, ‘Best Remix’. You know [what] he said, his Alicia Keys remix is official and played all over. So he doesn’t get how I won.”

Black Coffee denied ever disliking Prince Kaybee and said that he is actually a fan of his music

“So your response come from this? That’s where you wrong, I’ve never disliked you… dude I don’t even know you… but I’m a fan I’ve played your songs everywhere since you started. You know this… and no I’ve never said such about any award… who did I say to this to?”

Of course, the Twitter streets had receipts of the internationally renowned DJ’s comments about the award.

What a mess!
