The police ministry says it is unaware of a letter that Kelly Khumalo alleges that she sent to get answers about Senzo Meyiwa’s murder

Kelly made headlines last week when she released a video discussing the slain football star’s death.

She shared the video after once again being attacked online by social media users who demanded that she tell the truth about what happened the day that Senzo was shot dead during an alleged botched robbery.

The singer said that South Africa’s law was failing women in a “very major way”.

“The matter of my daughter’s father needs to be put to an end. It’s been six years. I have become a victim of this matter for very many, many years and I am tired… Someone in charge is not doing anything.

“I have written letters… to the police… I have a country that hates me,” she said in her now famous Russian accent.

A police spokesperson told TshisaLIVE that “the ministry of police is not aware of such a letter”

The official stressed that the murder investigation is still underway and “receiving the necessary attention it deserves”.

Police Minister Bheki Cele was left with egg on his face last year when he claimed that Senzo’s killers will be arrested by Christmas.

He revealed last week that four prosecutors have been appointed to work with the team investigating the murder.

“Never before have police worked so closely with the prosecuting authority on the matter,” he told eNCA

But as far as Kelly is concerned “someone is sitting somewhere in their high chair and they don’t care” about solving the case.

“When is someone in charge going to do their job and find the criminals and put them behind bars because this is exhausting,” she said in her video.
