Many of us tend to enjoy and look forward to the sweet taste of sugar. Are you one of them?
Adding a little sugar every now and again to some beverages or foods should be ok, however consuming too much sugar can have negative effects on our weight as well as our teeth.
Here are a few simple ways in which you can reduce your intake of sugar:
Cut down on the sugar-laden beverages by simply drinking fewer
If you have three mugs of tea daily (with a few teaspoons of sugar added to each cup), consider dropping to just two or maybe even one mug! You could alternatively add less sugar per cup.
Throw out the sugar-coated treats
Sweets, chocolates and most confectionery treats are loaded with sugar. Cut down on these treats. You could opt for a piece or two of dark chocolate instead. It is healthier by far and loaded with those magnificent antioxidants!
Buy less sugar
Buying a smaller quantity of sugar than what you would ordinarily use will mean that you would probably run out. This is an easy way to reduce your intake of sugar. You can’t use what you don’t have of course!
