Do not ban favourite foods from your diet especially if you want to lose weight.
Banning certain favourite foods (especially the high calorie ones!) from your diet may only make you crave them even more. You may then find yourself in a situation where you want to give in to them. Sometimes you may overindulge in these foods leading you to take in even more calories than you would have if you had just consumed a little in the first place.
Be clever as to how you enjoy these little indulgences. For example, instead of having a huge plate full of deep fried potato chips, try including it as a component of a healthy meal instead. Grilled, lean meat can be enjoyed with a healthy salad and a side of potato chips for example.
Remember to allow yourself the occasional treat whilst always keeping track of your calorie count. It will also help to keep you motivated to remain on your weight-loss diet plan.

In addition, you should always check with your doctor before making any drastic changes to your diet, especially if you are under medication or suffer from any medical condition that has an effect on your diet.
