According to the South African Weather Service, the Easter weekend will see some cooler temperatures in major centres, with a high of just 20 degrees Celsius in Johannesburg on Friday…

Port Elizabeth and Durban will see higher temperatures, with a high of 26 degrees Celsius in Port Elizabeth on Friday, and a toasty 28 degrees Celsius in Durban.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Dr. Beyers Naude, Inxuba Yethemba and Enoch Mgijima local Municipalities in the Eastern Cape.

A gale force north-easterly wind in excess of 65km/h is expected off-shore between Algoa Bay and Port Edward from the afternoon subsiding by midnight.

1. Gauteng:

Morning fog patches on the Highveld, otherwise cloudy and cool becoming partly cloudy later in the afternoon.

2. Mpumalanga:

Cloudy and cold to cool with morning fog on the Highveld and light rain in the east.

3. Limpopo:

Cloudy and cool with light rain in the east. It will be warm in the extreme south-western Bushveld.

4. North-West Province:

Cloudy and cool in the east in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated thundershowers in the west.

5. Free State:

Fine in the west at first, otherwise cloudy becoming partly cloudy and cool to warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south and west.

6. Northern Cape:

Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the east with isolated showers and thundershowers.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south- easterly.

7. Western Cape:

Partly cloudy in the extreme northeast in the morning, otherwise fine and warm but cool in the Cape Peninsula .

The wind along the coast will be strong northeasterly in the south otherwise light and variable in the west in the morning becoming moderate to fresh southwesterly in the afternoon.

8. Western Half Of The Eastern Cape:

Partly cloudy with morning fog patches in places over the interior, otherwise fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy from late afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north easterly, but strong in the east.

9. Eastern Half Of The Eastern Cape:

Partly cloudy with fog patches south of the escarpment in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the north and east.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong northeasterly.

10. Kwazulu-Natal:

Cloudy and cool with light rain and fog over the interior in the morning.isolated afternoon thundershowers are expected in the west.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.
