In Venice, the canals are teeming with life, in Wales, mountain goats are taking over a small town, and in South Africa, thousands of seabirds are flocking to abandoned beaches…

The video below was shared by Michelle Scheepers on Facebook. The original video was allegedly from a male resident in Paradise Beach, Langebaan in the Western Cape. It shows thousands of gulls and other seabirds feasting on some sardines close to the shoreline.

In the video, the man can be heard exclaiming that he’d never seen anything like it before. While the sardine run is sometimes visible to the residents, the massive feasting of birds hasn’t been witnessed.

He also mentioned that residents had been treated to sightings of dolphins in the area too.
