Reese Witherspoon is showing her appreciation for America’s teachers amid the coronavirus crisis by offering them free dresses from her Draper James label

The Covid-19 outbreak is continuing to sweep across the United States, with 245,000 confirmed cases and an estimated 6,000 deaths.

Classrooms have been closed and many teachers tasked with rapidly adapting to online lessons, and now, Witherspoon is showing her gratitude to the hardworking educators by giving away items from her lifestyle brand.

“Advocating for the children of the world is no easy task, so I wanted to show teachers a little extra love right now,” the mother-of-three said.

“These past few weeks have shown me so much about humanity. I have been so encouraged by the ways people are really showing up for each other. Particularly the teachers.”

Teachers can apply to win their free dress by filling out a form on Draper James’ website. The giveaway extends to all school teachers in the U.S. who complete the form by 5 April

As the supply of the dresses is limited, the winning teachers will be decided by lottery. In addition, Witherspoon will also offer 25 per cent off online orders on 5 May – Teacher Appreciation Day.

“During quarantine, we’ve seen you broadcasting lessons from your homes, figuring out remote-learning techniques and new communication platforms on the fly, balancing work and life – all while continuing to educate and connect with our children,” a company representative added.

“We know that (teaching during the coronavirus crisis) is not easy and want to shine a light on all your efforts.”
