A resident at the Centre for Great Apes in Florida, Sandra the orangutan is a good example to all during the Covid-19 pandemic…

The former zoo resident was moved to the sanctuary in November 2019. The Centre’s mission is “to provide a permanent sanctuary for orangutans and chimpanzees who have been retired from the entertainment industry, from research, or who are no longer wanted as pets. The Centre provides care with dignity in a safe, healthy, and enriching environment for great apes in need of lifetime care.”

As the Covid-19 pandemic sweeps across the world, the carers at the Centre shared the video of Sandra on their Facebook page as a reminder to the public to help curb the spread of the virus by washing their hands regularly, for more than 20 seconds.

Watch the cute video below. Well done Sandra on being a great example for all!
