If you do not fight sugar cravings, you may find yourself gaining weight.

When sugar cravings hit, avoid reaching for refined, high calorie junk foods and snacks. Consider the following food choices instead.

Fruit

Seasonal, juicy or even crunchy fruit can help satisfy a sweet craving. Furthermore, fruits are loaded with nutrients as well as fibre which are both good for you. Try consuming some berries for a burst of flavour.

Dark chocolate

Give dark chocolate a try if you hadn’t before. It is actually a common food that many people turn to when they crave confectionery. Best of all, dark chocolate is high in antoxidants and also plays a role in slowing down the ageing process.

Yoghurt

Plain, unsweetened yoghurt is a delicious, calcium enriched snack. It contains probiotics that also promotes a healthy stomach. It is a far better option than consuming unhealthy, high calorie foods.
