Egyptian municipality workers disinfect the Giza pyramid complex on the southwestern outskirts of the capital Cairo as part of protective measures against the spread of coronavirus…

Egypt has registered 40 new COVID-19 case, raising the country’s total number to 442, health minister Hala Zayed said in a press conference on Wednesday, 25 March 2020.

The minster also confirmed one death from the virus, bringing the total number of fatalities to 21. A total of 93 people have recovered, she noted, highlighting the critical coming three weeks for containing the spread of the coronavirus.

On Tuesday, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced a package of procedures to control the spread of the COVID-19 including a partial curfew and extension of schools and universities closure and flights suspension, vowing to punish any violator of the anti-virus measures under emergency laws.
