And judging by the fact that it’s currently trending on Twitter, it was a good move. For everyone who likes to chat into the wee hours of the night, but doesn’t want to be blinded by the glare from the screen, WhatsApp dark mode has come to the rescue!

“Dark mode for WhatsApp offers a fresh look on a familiar experience. It’s designed to reduce eye strain in low light environments,” says the tech company.

How to get dark mode on WhatsApp?

Users on Android 10 and iOS 13 can use dark mode by enabling it in system settings.

Users on Android 9 and below can go into WhatsApp Settings > Chats > Theme > select ‘Dark’.
