Over time, it’s normal for the flow to lessen in our showerheads…
This doesn’t actually mean that there’s anything wrong with the fitting or your water pressure – it’s simply caused by mineral build-up from the fresh water flowing through it clogging up the fine holes in the head itself.
The best part? You don’t even have to disassemble the shower head to clean it up.
For most areas in South Africa, you can simply add a 50/50 water and vinegar mix to a clear plastic bag and rubber band it around the shower head overnight.
Let it soak for two hours, remove, and run the shower a little – you should see immediate improvement.
For areas with known hard water, or a mineral-rich borehole, you may want to use a dishwasher tablet or descaling tablet instead of the vinegar mix for a stronger effect.
Time to test it out with a warm, snuggly shower!
