You can be assured of consuming low calorie meals, if you prepare them yourself. Choose your ingredients and foods properly when out shopping by reading nutrition labels before purchasing them. Compare different food brands and keep a lookout for fat, sugar, sodium as well as the preservative content. Avoid foods that contain trans fats as far as possible.

Select the freshest foods and opt for fruits and vegetables that are in season as they will be abundant in nutrients. You may not always know whether low calorie ingredients or the best quality of ingredients were used by others who have prepared meals for you.

Get inspiration from food magazines, food blogs or even recipe books. Experiment with foods and flavours that you enjoy and have fun!
