One of South Africa’s top designers has put Zahara on blast on social media
Otsile Sefolo has accused the Loliwe musician of failing to pay for a dress that he made for her.
The designer aired the singer’s dirty laundry after she shared a celebratory post about her show with Msaki and Berita at Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park last week.
“Last night was beyond my expectations,” she wrote.
One of Zahara’s followers commented that the devil is “breathing through the wound” following her amazing performance.
“When God shows up, this is what happens,” the fan wrote.
Otsile, who has worked with stars such as Mampho Brescia and Dineo Moeketsi, replied to the fan’s comment with some shady remarks
“… more like the devil herself is onstage. This lady has screwed me over twice. She failed to pay me the money she owed me from the dress I made for her in 2016 and now she wears my designs and fails to give us credit for our work and has the audacity to bring back the dress dirty,” the Sunday World quoted him as saying.
The comment has since been deleted.
It’s not the first time that Zahara has made headlines over money drama.
A Cape Town sangoma named Sibusiso Mathe claimed that the singer owed him R20 000.
Sibusiso told the Daily Sun that he booked the star for the End of the Year Music Festival in Khayelitsha in December, but she did not pitch.
She eventually did arrive – after the show!
“I’m very unhappy with what she did… I want my money back. I paid her R10 000. My expenses to bring her to Cape Town with her manager is another R10 000. She owes me R20 000,” he told the publication.
Zahara’s team blamed a flight delay for her late arrival.
