We’ve come to love and enjoy Real Housewives of Jozi, but are we about to get a Durban edition in the near future?
We all had high hopes when the RHOJ came to town, and two seasons later, it’s safe to say that the show has delivered on its promise.
The show’s real-life housewives have become celebrities in their own right, both seasons of the reality show have proven to be massive hits, and South Africans are already counting the days until the new season arrives.
It seems as if the Bravo network, owners of the Real Housewives franchise, is also pleased with the show’s progress. Not only are they considering a new season the Johannesburg edition, but, if reports are to be believed, a Real Housewives of Durban might not be far away at all – and we cannot wait!
We received the tip-off from reliable entertainment journalist Phil Mphela who said on Twitter, “WORD IS: Real Housewives of Durban coming soon. The murmur is that, following the success of the Joburg seasons, the company behind the local production of this Bravo franchise is now expanding the show to Durban. I love the idea. I’m in.”

He wasn’t the only one who was “in”, either. A number of tweeps also expressed their excitement at the possibility of a Real Housewives show featuring some of Durban’s most lavish and eccentric personalities.
We expect rich and rowdy adventures, jaw-dropping fashion, and of course, the kind of drama you only see on South African television! One close observer gave us a hint for the type of personality that the producers will be looking out for:
Normally whenever they cast for housewives in the US version you need to be successful, have a family also being a socialite ,sometimes you can be a housewives even if you are single or not married as long as you deliver when coming to testing.

Do you think a Real Housewives of Durban would prove to be a hit?
