You could burn more calories by taking power walks as opposed to just a relaxing stroll.
Taking power walks can be a very effective way to increase the number of calories you burn while walking. If you are a regular walker, consider giving your routine a boost by power walking at regular intervals.
You can do this by increasing your speed of walking (pace). Return to your normal pace once you begin to feel uncomfortable. This is usually between 10 to 15 seconds for many people. You can pick up your pace again during the course of your walk.
Always stop if you experience any discomfort or pain and remember that the more fit you are, the more comfortable you will feel when exercising. As you become more accustomed to power walks, you can include more of them into your exercise/ walking routine. Do not forget to engage in a warm-up routine first!
