Lebo M is showing Prince Harry and his wife Meghan some love after two weeks of their royal drama
The South African composer, who met the Duke of Sussex at the The Lion King London premiere last year, took to Instagram to share a special message about the prince and his wife, Meghan.
“The authentic #harryandmeghan… inspiring!!!” he captioned two pictures of him chatting to the duke and duchess.
Lebo M’s post came shortly after Prince Harry expressed his disappointment at having to “quit” his duties as a royal family member.
Harry and Meghan originally planned to “step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family” while “continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen”. But after discussions with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Prince William, it was revealed that they will no longer be working members of the royal family.
They may not use the ‘HRR’ title and must pay back the money that was used to renovate Frogmore Cottage in which they live, on the estate of Frogmore House.
Speaking at a fundraiser before departing for Canada, Prince Harry opened up about his decision to step back from the only life he has known.
“What I want to make clear is we’re not walking away, and we certainly aren’t walking away from you. Our hope is to continue serving the Queen, the Commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding. Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible.
“I’ve accepted this, knowing that it doesn’t change who I am or how committed I am. But I hope that helps you understand what it had to come to, that I would step my family back from all I have ever known, to take a step forward into what I hope can be a more peaceful life,” he said.
Lebo M is not the only local star who has shown support for Meghan and Harry
Redi Tlhabi says she understands why the couple decided to step back.
“I’m sympathetic to Harry & Meghan for MANY reasons; political & personal. The personal is that I’m married & I can NEVER make my husband do anything he doesn’t want to do. He cannot make me do ANYTHING I do not want to do. Big or small. So Meghan “Made Harry do it” is odd for me,” she wrote on Twitter.
She also defended Meghan against the Internet trolls who blame her for their shocking royal exit.
“A scenario: When Harry witnessed abusive, racist coverage Meghan endured in Britain, could he have asked for support from royal family? Support that DID NOT MATERIALISE? Could this have led him to decide “Bugger them. I’m going with her.” It’s possible. So why is it HER fault?”
