The first signs of dementia usually present in the 40s and 50s, but instead of affecting the memory, it affects the part of the bran controlling thinking and emotions.

Early symptoms may include a lack of interest in life and the well-being of family members as well as inappropriate behaviour.

Although there is no cure for dementia, research has found that certain lifestyle changes can slow the progression of the disease.

These include mental and physical activities, getting enough sleep, and following a healthy diet.
