We all love a clean home, but when it comes to the rubbish bin we bet you just give up

No matter how much you empty it, or how clean you try and keep it, it just stays stinky, right? Wrong! If you’re using these cheap DIY deodorising discs, that is!

All you’ll need is two cups of bicarbonate of soda, one cup of water, and 3-4 drops of a clean, fresh essential oil like lemon or lavender.

  • Drop the essential oil into the water, and slowly mix it into the bicarb. You want to end with a very thick paste.
  • Place the mix into any available mould- like a silicone mould or a plastic-lined muffin pan.
  • Depending on the size of the mould, it will take 24 to 48-hours to dry out and harden.
  • Once they are dry, you can use them anywhere that gets a little whiffy, from the bottom of the bin or diaper pail to the back of the loo.

With these cheap, simple deodorizing discs on your side, you need never fear bad smells again.
