The singer-and-actress chopped her locks at the end of last month and emerged with a stylish pixie crop.

“I wanted a change, something different and it’s grown and sexy,” she told Access Hollywood. “It’s just like, this is the new JHud, Jennifer! I said if I’m gonna go short, I’m gonna go all the way… and here it is.”

While she is thrilled with the finished look Jennifer admits that not everyone has accepted it. Her four-year-old son David is still trying to come to terms with his mom’s ‘do.

“He doesn’t like it yet, he’s like, ‘Mommy your hair looks funny, it looks funny’. He’s not used to change,” she recently laughed to

The 32-year-old star’s bold look was created by stylist Cesar Ramirez. His previous clients include Ciara and Adrienne Bailon.

After Jennifer debuted her hair at the BET Awards, Cesar shared how proud he was via Twitter

“My latest creation the #PixyCut on #JeniferHudson #newdo #werq #haircut #fashion #style #BlackGirlsrock #BET (sic)” he wrote.

She was also able to show off her chic crop when she was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this week.

She took the time to speak about how happy she was to be a part of the iconic pavement.

“It’s just an honour just to have one and to be here and it’s been a journey. It’s like OK, this is a good sign, this is an inspiration for me to keep pushing on,” she smiled. “I just want to grow and I love what I do and I just want to continue to get better and learn and learn whether it’s film, music, spokesperson. I just want to be here.”
