Stay in shape this festive season by eating healthy and working out throughout the holiday period

No celebrity is committed to their fitness routine more than Jennifer Lopez. The 50-year-old mother-of-two regularly shares videos and pictures of herself at the gym.

We’re halfway into the festive season and J.Lo has not cut back on her regular gym visits. If you are one of those people who feel down during the holidays, working out can help brighten up your day.

“I am 100 per cent convinced that working out is part of what makes me so happy… Dance has always been a huge part of my life and taking the time to move my body and do something that’s so good for me is key to my happiness… working out is definitely a priority for me,” she told Hello magazine in an interview.

When it comes to her diet, Jennifer is all about clean eating. She hasn’t had coffee in years and instead prefers to drink water. Her go-to breakfast, according to People magazine, is a smoothie that usually contains berries, Greek yogurt, cinnamon, honey and a scoop of protein powder. She sometimes like to have oatmeal.

Jennifer enjoys a healthy veggie salad for lunch and supper usually includes lean protein and complex carbs.

Jessica Biel

You can forget about Jessica Biel touching any dairy-based desserts this Christmas. The actress revealed in 2017 that she gave up dairy and it helped improve her digestion.

She told the Los Angeles Times that she starts her day with gluten-free, wheat-free Paleo pancakes and almond butter. A green salad with quinoa is on the menu for lunch while supper usually involves salmon and grilled veggies.

Jessica tries to work out at least three times a week. Her routine includes circuit and strength training, cardio and yoga.

Amanda du-Pont

If you can’t reach Amanda du-Pont this festive season that is because she is probably outdoors working up a sweat in fun and exciting ways.

“I love tanning, being on the beach, doing adventurous things [like] white water rafting – outdoor stuff. I think when we’re in the city we get so caught up on achieving and money and goals and we never stop to just breathe and relax and be thankful,” she told Women’s Health magazine.

Amanda works out six days a week and some of her go-to exercise moves include twisted sit-ups, punching squats, push-ups, the standing bicycle as well as weighted arm and leg lifts.

If you want to avoid developing a ‘muffin top’ this festive season, it will take more than just ab crunches. Amanda told True Love magazine in a 2017 interview how she maintains her flat tummy.

“…your diet is very important, abs are made in the kitchen which is something some don’t want to hear but it’s true. Cutting out refined carbs and sugary foods is a must,” she said.
