Sally Holderness – Senior Product Developer

What do you predict will be Woolies best-selling foods product this Christmas?

I predict that Woolies’ salmon with pastry lattice will be a best-seller this year – it looks so impressive, and it is a nice alternative to a traditional meat dish. The contrast of crispy flaky pastry and the luxurious succulence of the salmon is heavenly. And the Modena-Made Balsamic Vinegar in a Handmade Bottle, and range of infused olive oils in decorative glass bottles will make great gifts– such a versatile options.

If you were only going to buy one thing from Woolies this Christmas, what would it be?

Such a hard question as I buy all my food from Woolies, and it’s like asking who your favourite child is. But, if I had to, it would be the big Ready-to-Eat Beechwood Smoked gammon. You can’t buy a gammon as good anywhere else.

What do you predict will be Woolies best-selling foods product this Christmas?

I predict our best sellers will be anything smoked salmon, any of the three lovely tear and share bread wreaths, and there are so many exquisite desserts – can’t choose which one! For gifts, any of our biscuit tins are amazing – although I have my eye on the graphic botanical tins as winners this year.

If you were only going to buy one thing from Woolies this Christmas, what would it be?

Microgreens, edible flowers and micro veg. They make the presentation so special.

Christelle Van Zyl – Head Of Product Development: Long Life

What do you predict will be Woolies best-selling foods product this Christmas?

Can I choose only one?! I’ll have to say, one of the desserts or cakes… the Santa Belt Christmas cake is such fun! I always cheat with the sweets – I would not be able to make such show-stopping intricate delicious desserts as the ones Woolies offers. The Ruby Chocolate tart or chocolate hazelnut dessert is also so delicious!

Otherwise I think the Woolies gammons are always a treat. My mom always uses the big bone-in Gammon for her show-stopper centre piece. I always make sure I have the the Woolies Beechwood Ready to Eat Smoked Gammon (affectionately known as “The Big Boy” on the Woolies Foods floor) in the fridge for Boxing Day, as there is normally not much left of mom’s gammon after Christmas lunch.

If you were only going to buy one thing from Woolies this Christmas, what would it be?

I always make sure I have gold shimmer spray and gold stars on hand, to add sparkle to everything on the Christmas Table.
