The father of notorious wife killer, Christopher Panayiotou, was shot dead in Uitenhage early on Monday morning

According to police, Costa Panayiotou, aged 67, was shot outside his store in Uitenhage at 1am. His assistant, who was with him at the time, was abducted and Panayiotou’s VW Polo was stolen. Police recovered the vehicle after it was found abandoned, parked in front of a house in NU-9, Motherwell (Port Elizabeth).

A statement issued by police stated that Panayiotou had closed his shop and was walking to his vehicle together with his assistant when unknown men accosted him near the Town Hall parking space and fatally shot him.

His assistant was abducted, allegedly raped, and abandoned by the attackers in Kwazakhele.  A case of murder, hijacking and abduction has been opened.
