South Africans woke up on Monday morning to exciting news – Zozibini Tunzi is queen of the universe
She was crowned Miss Universe 2019 on Sunday night after a remarkable showing at the ceremony that impressed the likes of Oprah Winfrey.
The Eastern Cape beauty’s new life as Miss Universe began almost instantly with press from all over the world lining up to interview her.
Zozi will soon be jetting off to New York where she will live in a luxury penthouse throughout her reign.
Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters already has a few suggestions for what she can do in the Big Apple.
“SOUTH AFRICA, SHE DID IT!!!!! Congratulations @zozitunzi what a woman you are! Ps: I have a NYC to do list for you,” she wrote on Instagram.

Not only will Zozi get to stay in a fancy NYC apartment, but her new title comes with amazing prizes
She will also receive a salary from Miss Universe throughout her reign. The amount is said to be six figures!
Zozi will also get gifts and products from this year’s sponsors including American designer Sherri Hill.
We can also expect to see the 26-year-old living it up at A-list events such as New York Fashion Week.
Demi-Leigh was invited as a guest on shows like Good Morning America and the popular Live With Kelly and Ryan when she won Miss Universe.
We expect to see Zozi’s press tour to be just as exciting. But it might be a while before South Africans get to see her again.
Demi-Leigh returned to SA for her homecoming one month after being crowned.
Zozi’s reign as Miss Universe is likely to be one of the best
She is already being applauded by people all over the world for being true to her authentic self.
Zozi is more than ready to show the world what she is made of.
“Tonight a door was opened and I could not be more grateful to have been the one to have walked through it. May every little girl who witnessed this moment forever believe in the power of her dreams and may they see their faces reflected in mine. I proudly state my name Zozibini Tunzi, Miss Universe 2019,” she wrote on Instagram.
