The Maine Coon is the largest domesticated cat breed, but these felines aren’t going viral for their size. The internet can’t get enough of their ‘human-like’ faces…

No, this isn’t a weird Snapchat filter, or the result of clever Photoshopping. The unsettling yet still incredibly adorable kittens are the result of painstaking selective breeding. Tatyana Rastorgueva, a 44-year-old felinologist and animal lover, has been breeding cats since 2002.

The unusual human-like Maine Coons are the result of breeding father cat Vatican and mother cat Lucien.

Rastorgueva from Moscow, Russia started posting photos of her cats and their kittens on Instagram, and now has over 82 500 fascinated followers.

The kitten, Valkyrie is one of the fans’ favourites. His dark fur, green eyes, and ‘familiar’ human-like face has Instagrammers entranced.

“Yoda much?! Lol so cute!” commented @lucylightsdesign.

“He looks like he could be a cousin of The Grinch!” said @sandyvernace

What do you think of these kitties? Cute or creepy?
