There are only a few days left before the new Miss Universe beauty queen is crowned and we’re crossing our fingers (and toes) for Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi
Voting for the top 20 officially opened on Sunday and here’s how South Africans can help Zozibini advance to the finals.
The Glove Vote, which is based on the results of the Preliminary and National Costume competitions on December 6, will see the contestant with the highest number of votes automatically advancing to the top 20.
Pageant watchers have already named Zozibini as one of their favourites to take the crown, and her ‘Wave of Love’ costume will certainly turn heads.
The outfit was designed by The Costume Department’s Lloyd Kandlin and features letters written by SA men to show their support for the fight against gender-based violence.
You can vote for Zozibini on the Miss Universe website, and again on Friday after the national costume competition.

Zozibini has settled in nicely ahead of Sunday’s ceremony, getting to know the other contestants, including her roommate, Miss Universe Nigeria Olutosin Itohan Araromi.
“My roommate is finally here and she has now officially become my personal photographer/videographer. Well done on your first day of the job @iamolutosin, you have 8 more days to go!” she wrote on Instagram.

It’s been so hectic settling in, going through registration and meeting the girls that I haven’t had time to be very social. But I’m here ninani..I’ve officially settled in very well❤️ pic.twitter.com/bQ2kIOalsR
