Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi is already in the USA where she is set to compete in this year’s Miss Universe pageant, but things got off to a shaky start for the Eastern Cape-born model
Last week the nation gathered at OR Tambo international airport to say its collective farewells to Zozibini who was jetting off to the States.
The 26-year-old travelled to Atlanta where she is gearing up to compete with nearly 100 other women for the title of this year’s Miss Universe and, based on the feedback online, she has every reason to be fancying her chances.
However, once she had landed in the ATL, things kicked off on a bumpy note after a wardrobe malfunction caused her and her team to panic, minutes before her registration and first Miss Universe photoshoot.
A video capturing the entire incident was shared on the Miss Universe social media feeds and Zozibini can be seen maintaining her calm despite the panic that was brewing all around her.
Watch how it all unravelled (literally and figuratively) below:

Luckily for her, Zozibini and her team were able to get everything together in time for a successful registration and thankfully, the small wardrobe glitch has done nothing to hamper her chances as a favourite in the competition.
Fans on social media (mostly South African fans but still!) are counting on her already:

Zozibini is looking forward to making her country proud when she steps onto the Miss Universe stage next week
She left a heartfelt message to her nation when she left the country last week after writing on Instagram, “I am leaving South Africa as one but will confidently stand on that global stage as millions. I have never in my wildest dreams imagined that I would experience a love like this. I carry you in my heart and spirit. Thank you so much for always showing up for me South Africa.”
