The silly season is officially here! Thousands of South Africans are doing their Christmas shopping on Black Friday

Scores of people woke up bright and early to queue outside stores to make sure that they got the best deals before they sold out.

If you are heading out to the store today, these A-list stars have a few tips for you.

Hulisani Ravele has some important advice for her followers this Black Friday.

One of her friends jokingly asked her for R3 000 to shop on Black Friday deals. Hulisani was having none of it. She says if you don’t have money to shop till you drop, then kindly exit the building!

Hulisani might have been sharing a joke with a friend, but many people buy goods with plastic money or take loans to purchase Black Friday deals.

Anele Mdoda: “Do your research”

Some shoppers go crazy during Black Friday and spend willy-nilly on things they don’t even need just because they are on sale. Be like Anele Mdoda and only purchase things you really need that are selling at a good price.

Anele was skeptical about Black Friday sales when they first started gaining popularity in South Africa.

“Why is Black Friday a thing here in SA,” she tweeted in 2015.

Fast forward to 2018 and she was doing research on the best deals for a Mac Book laptop.

“Black Friday okes, are you aware of any MAC Book specials, this one that I am using takes unpaid leave when it feels like it,” she posted.

Anele was even sharing the best places to find specials on her radio show!

Linda Mtoba: “Avoid long queues by shopping online”

Actress Linda Mtoba has no time to waste standing in long queues on Black Friday. She likes to do her shopping from the comfort of her home.

“Guys where’s best place online to Black Friday?” she tweeted in 2018.

Cyber Monday, which is dedicated to online deals, takes place the Monday after Black Friday.
