Stress. It’s no fun. It’s bad for your health, and even worse if you’re trying to lose weight…
Stress puts your body into storage mode, which means that no matter what you’re doing, you’re not going to be shedding the pounds as you’d wish to. And in today’s busy world, everybody is dealing with at least some type of stress, be it work, family, financial or some other sort.
Here are some techniques to deal with stress so that you can be healthy, and reach your weight-loss goals.
1. Take a 30-minute ‘holiday’
If you find yourself having the type of day that stresses you out, then you need to deal with it as soon as you can. One of the best ways to do this is to take a ‘mini holiday’.
What this means is that you get away from the stressful environment, find a beautiful place in nature – a park is a good one, and then sit and relax for thirty minutes.
You could choose to take along some relaxing music to listen to, and a cup of your favourite tea. The important thing is to be by yourself for a while in an environment that calms you. You may have to go back to work (or wherever) again, but you’ll be calmer, and have more perspective.
