Rachel Kolisi is still on a high after her husband Siya Kolisi led the Springboks to victory at the Rugby World Cup in Japan earlier this year
But don’t try to spoil her excitement with your negative comments because you won’t succeed!
She put a radio presenter on blast for his comment on a picture she posted on Instagram.
Rachel took to the picture-sharing app to tell her 180 000 plus followers about something amazing that happened to her at the airport. She was travelling to Paris, France with Siya when they were bumped up from economy to first class.
“I dont know how to be cool, calm or collected about this. We were literally standing in the economy line to chcek into our flight to Paris and the priority line called us over and said we were flying first class,” she captioned a picture of herself seated in first class.
Her followers commented about how “lucky” she was to get the upgrade, and East Coast Radio presenter Sky Tshabalala entered the mix with a comment of his own.
“It’s called being the wife of a World Cup winning capitano,” he teased.
The comment itself was innocent, but Rachel remembered something he said about her on-air during the World Cup
“Luckily they won right! Pretty sure I remember you saying on air it would be my fault if we lost,” she replied.
Sky replied: “[laughing emojis]I can not deny or confirm that statement!.”
Rachel’s fans applauded her for clapping back, especially considering that she has remained silent amid all the hate she has received since the Bokke beat England in the final.
She was in the stands with Siya’s father when they lifted the trophy.
Some Twitter users said Rachel did not deserve to be married to the black Springbok captain, adding that he should be with a Xhosa woman.
The former events manager did not respond to the hate and instead remained focused on supporting our boys in green and gold during their trophy tour of SA.
But Instagram users are glad she stood up for herself.
“Your comeback Rachel…. legendary. Now that’s a daughter of the most high God,” one wrote after her Sky clapback.
Another added: “Ouens ouens, check out the #firstlady. Shots fired, shots fired.”
