With the hectic pace of modern life you probably don’t have time to clean your house top-to-toe daily. Yet even a couple can make a lot of mess in a week, and if you add pets or kids to the mix it can look like a bomb detonated in your house by the weekend…
Try these two simple techniques to keep a tidier house – without getting overwhelmed
The first is ever-so-simple on paper, but will take a little training in practice.
Don’t put DOWN, put AWAY
That’s not just you, by the way – same rule applies to everyone in the home, no matter how young (or grumpy). You’ll be surprised how much of a difference this will make in your cleaning life!
For commonly used objects like school bags, handbags, keys and phones, make sure you have a centralised ‘station’ for them – every day they get returned there, and every morning you know exactly where to find them.
Secondly, devote just 15 minutes a day to a quick cleanup
Spray down the counters, put anything that escaped rule 1 in its place, hang up anything that was dropped in the morning rush, and throw out any trash.
It seems so little effort, but you’ll be amazed how it will improve your home. With these two tiny tweaks to your daily routine, you home will always look visitor-friendly.
