Kelly Khumalo has come out strong against ongoing accusations levelled against her over Senzo Meyiwa’s murder in 2014

The former Bafana Bafana captain was killed in an alleged botched robbery at Kelly’s mom’s house in Vosloorus.

No suspects have been arrested in the case and fans continue to point fingers at Kelly.

Senzo’s murder was once again thrown into the spotlight after the Sunday Independent reported that the “botched robbery” was part of an elaborate cover up, which allegedly also involved the lead investigator.

The report claimed that Senzo was allegedly “mistakenly shot” when he tried to separate a fight between Kelly’s sister Zandi Khumalo and her ex-boyfriend, Longwe Twala, who were also in the house at the time.

During an interview with eTV’s Morning Show on Tuesday, Kelly slammed the recent wave of reports

“For that independent newspaper: how dare you? When you go out of your way and write something so false and untrue, and misleading the nation. At the end of the day, I promise you this, you will have egg on your face,” she said.

Kelly added that people want her to be found guilty for Senzo’s murder.

“I’ve spoken about the Senzo Meyiwa issue so many times but people have decided that they want me guilty, so why defend myself? They must believe what they want to believe.”

Kelly said that she and God know the truth.

“One thing I will never do is protect the person who killed my daughter’s father. At what expense? At the end of the day God still wins,” she added.

Shortly after the interview aired, Kelly once again topped the Twitter trends list as social media users weighed in on the recent events in the case.
