DJ Black Coffee has issued a statement requesting privacy around his divorce from his estranged wife and actress Enhle Mbali
After months of swirling speculation around the state of their marriage, Enhle confirmed their split through an emotionally-charged video on Instagram on Sunday.
This, after Sunday World reported that Enhle had applied for a protection order against Black Coffee’s mom and sister, after they allegedly “verbally attacked” her.
Black Coffee broke his silence through a statement on Twitter on Tuesday night
“After much deliberation since the story of our relationship broke in public, I wish to state that we have been trying to sort our problems amicably and in private for almost a year now, and it has been the most heartbreaking and challenging period,” he said.
The DJ added that, while there’s always two sides to a story, he would not be drawn into discussing their private life in public.
“As much as there’s two sides to every story, I will not discuss our private life in public, let alone speak ill of my partner or my in-laws as this can only hurt the people we both love dearly,” he added.
Black Coffee requested that their privacy be respected as this is now a court matter, adding that their main priority is to protect their children.
“As Mbali has stated, our priority are to protect our children at this point.”

In her video a few days ago, Enhle also poured her heart out about it being a “rough” couple of years
“It has been a very long couple of years for me and in all of that all I ask is for silence, not for me or anyone else but for my children. Everything that I have done till this day is to protect my children. All I’ve ever tried to do is be a great wife, a supportive wife… one that is respectful, not only to my partner and everyone who is around him.”
