Black Friday is on 29 November, so this week we get you prepped by letting you know which stores are participating and how to get ahead of all the other shoppers
Everybody is gathering their coins and getting their game plan together for November 29 aka Black Friday. This week we teach you bargain hunters how to find the best Black Friday deals and stay ahead the shopping crowd.
Participating clothing stores
The TFG group, which includes @home, Donna, Exact, Fabiani, Foschini, Markham, Sportscene, The FIX and Totalsports is having a major sale and offering free delivery on online orders over R500.
Top tip: Join the mailing list so you can hear about the deals first.
Mr Price is having a massive sale online (also join their mailing list asap) from 25-29 November and on 2 December (aka Cyber Monday).
Takealot, Superbalist and Zando are also participating.
Stay ahead of the pack
If you’re shopping online, long on to the site at least 10 minutes before midnight, add everything you need to cart and watch the prices drop when the clock strikes 12.
Have a shopping buddy to work with – there is power in numbers after all. A deal that you miss will be seen by your friend.
Stay away from dodgy sites you have never used before – you could end up losing a lot of money.
If you’re shopping at a store, don’t rock up at 3am and wait in a queue all day
Although many of the top products will be gone, the best time to shop on Black Friday is when the day is winding down at around 6pm. I’ve done this many times. All the hidden gems are left and you can shop in peace.
