American actor Matthew McConaughey joined celebrities all over the world in congratulating the Springboks after the match.

Matthew was particularly inspired by Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi.

Basetana Kumalo declared that she will be front and centre when the boks arrive back in South Africa this week.

“My African Dream….what a time to be alive! Viva Bokke….Mina I am going to be at the airport sheeeeemmm to welcome the World Cup WINNERS!” the former Miss South Africa wrote on Instagram.

The Springboks expressed their gratitude to all South Africans for believing in them throughout the world cup.

Our boys in green and gold were particularly excited to have their family, friends and partners by their side in Japan. Here’s a look at how they celebrated…

Siya’s dad Fezakele Kolisi

Fezakele Kolisi was beaming with pride as he watched his son, Siya Kolisi, lead the Springboks to victory from the stands of Japan’s International Stadium Yokohama. It was Fezakele’s first trip overseas.

He was pictured singing and cheering his son on during the match. Fezakele was also caught on camera hugging his daughter-in-law on the field shortly after the Boks’ win.

Siya Kolisi’s children

Rachel Kolisi, the wife of Siya Kolisi, made sure their children were on hand to help their dad. Nicolas and Keziah couldn’t contain their smiles as their Siya carried them onto the pitch.

Rachel also made sure that Siya’s dad and best friend were well taken care of during the match. Her father and brother were also spotted at the final cheering the bokke on.

Cheslin and Layla Kolbe

Cheslin Kolbe’s wife Layla has been praying non-stop since the Rugby World Cup began. Her prayers were answered on Saturday and she is still in celebration mode.

Layla and the couple’s daughter Kylah were both in Japan for the final. Kolbe said the world cup brought her family closer.

“We came, we prayed, we conquered! A month in Japan and I firmly believe God sent us here full of faith and on assignment. Our return flight was always booked for after the finals. It was always “when we win” and never “if we win”. Because words have power and we speak life!

“This world cup has brought my family so much closer to God, that even Kylah would tell me every night we must pray for daddy’s ankle and then she went and laid her hands on his foot, closed her eyes and no idea what was said but that enough was powerful,” she wrote on Instagram.

Francois ‘Faf’ De Klerk and girlfriend

Faf caused a stir on social media when he was spotted greeting Prince Harry in the Sprinboks’ locker room in a pair of speedos.

“You can be cool, but you’ll never be Faf shaking Prince Harry’s hand in a SA underpants cool,” a Facebook user named Dean Bruyns wrote.

Before his changing room antics, Faf posed for a picture with his girlfriend, Mine van Niekerk, and the world cup trophy.
