As the entire nation united to celebrate the Springboks’ Rugby World Cup win, EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi and musician Ntsiki Mazwai came under fire for their negative comments

People from all walks of life put their differences aside on Saturday as a sense of unity and jubilance could be felt after the Boks scooped Webb Ellis Cup in Yokohama, Japan.

They beat England 32 -12 in a historic moment as Siya Kolisi led the team to victory as the first black captain of the squad.

While the entire nation rejoiced, Mbuyiseni and Ntsiki caused a stir with their negative remarks.

Taking to Twitter in the midst of the celebrations, Mbuyiseni tweeted: “Congratulations to Siya Kolisi…the rest go get your congratulations from Prince Harry.”

Social media users slammed the political figure, claiming that his comment was racially loaded.

Ntsiki claimed in a video clip that the Springbok squad was not a representation of her and the country

“I cannot play along with you, I will not be a fool and pretend that the team that is representing South Africa represent me and represent the demographic in my country.

“I will not play along with you and lie to the world as if rugby is not a strong hold of racism in this country,” she said in part on the video.

Mzansi weighed in on the comments on Twitter.
