BET Africa has confirmed that KB will play the Lebo Mathosa in an upcoming docu-series about her life

“ITS OFFICIAL: KB Motsilanyane and Bahumi Madisakwane will play Lebo Mathosa in Dream: The Lebo Mathosa Story premiering on BET Africa (DStv channel 129) on Wednesday, 6 November at 21:30 CAT,” Viacom, which owns BET, tweeted.

Kelly Khumalo was originally pegged to star in the Dream: The Lebo Mathosa Story but allegedly changed her mind over a salary dispute.

According to the City Press, Kelly was not happy with what was being offered.

KB agreed to take over at the last minute and will now play the adult version of Lebo in highly anticipated series

Filing has already begun and KB says that she is thrilled to be taking on the role.

“Walking in Lebo’s shoes is one of the greatest things I have ever done,” she says in a behind-the-scenes video.

KB added that she knows she has her work cut out for her.

“It’s not an easy journey to play this character, because it’s beyond imagination, it is larger than life and every single thing is a new experience.”

KB’s fans are thrilled about her new role.

“KB as Lebo Mathosa [heart eye emoji]. She was born ready! Mamesadi wala!”

But some people are not sure if she will do Lebo justice

One of those people (unsurprisingly) is Ntsiki Mazwai.

The poet and singer wasted no time shading KB.

“KB may have white people connections but she doesn’t have the Lebo Mathosa energy… not by a LONG SHOT,” Ntsiki tweeted.

One Twitter user claimed that KB was too old to play Lebo.
