Three people were injured when a truck crashed into multiple cars in the car park of a shopping centre in Mount Edgecombe on Thursday at 6.30pm, Netcare 911 reported

The driver lost control of the truck transporting resins and crashed into at least 20 cars at Flanders Mall car park off the M41 in Mount Edgecombe Netcare 911 reported.

The driver of the truck, an adult male, sustained moderate injuries and two patients from the cars, also both males, sustained minor injuries, Netcare reported.

All the patients were treated at the scene and transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.

Reporting from the scene, Netcare said that the truck came to rest next to the wall of the shopping centre after it crashed into the cars at Flanders Mall car park.

Medics arrived on scene to find one car stuck under the truck and said that emergency workers were not able to determine if there were any occupants in the vehicle.

Fire and rescue services will start moving the vehicles as soon as the initial assessment has been done.

All necessary authorities were at the scene, the emergency service said.

More information about the incident would be made available after further investigations, Netcare said.
