On Tuesday afternoon the Springboks booked a place in the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals with an emphatic win over an unfavoured Canadian side

The North Americans had hoped to stage an upset but die Bokke put an end to their ambitions as they emerged as 66-7 victors in a one-sided tie.

South Africans across the country were jubilant by the time the final whistle rang in Kobe, Japan and among them were some of our biggest celebrities.

Mzansi’s A-listers shared their excitement in a series of social media posts and we can be sure that they will be ready to cheer on our first 15 in the next round of this year’s world cup.

Lalla Hirayama has a front-row seat to all of the action and she was buzzing with excitement live from Japan as she watched our boys demolish the Canadian first 15.

Minnie Dlamini

Likewise, Minnie Dlamini-Jones had zero sympathy for Canada’s first team as it became apparent that they were about to be on the receiving end of a humiliating result.

Mrs Jones was also on brand ambassador duties as she sent a shout out to this year’s main sponsors, Heineken.

Siv Ngesi

Like Lalla, Siv attended the Boks vs All Blacks match earlier in the tournament and is a die-hard Boks fan.

He’s also loves to give live commentary on all matches!

Rob Forbes

Was anybody as excited as Rob Forbes during Tuesday’s Springboks game?

The 5FM DJ was (literally) bouncing in his seat as the Boks scored one try after another in the one-sided fixture. It almost feels like he wishes he could have been in the crowd instead of behind the microphone!

Robert Marawa

Robert Marawa might be in Spain focusing on football matters, but even he couldn’t help but pay his congratulations to one of Tuesday’s outstanding performers – Springboks hooker Mbongeni Mbonambi.
