Always eat before going shopping otherwise you may either be tempted to eat out, or snack on high calorie junk foods.

If you tend to always go shopping after you have eaten a meal, you will find that you will not feel hungry. Alternatively you may experience the need to eat a snack whilst out. This of course depends on the duration of your shopping trip as well.

For example, if you are just heading to your local mall to purchase a few items, it will be highly achievable to get through it without having to buy any foods or snacks to nibble on. If however, you are planning on doing some window shopping, visiting many shops (before deciding which items to purchase) and have a very long shopping list to get through, you are probably going to spend a few hours in the shopping mall.

If it is not convenient to take a healthy snack along with you, consider only purchasing healthy ones! Remember that this includes beverages too. If you are unable to take a water bottle with you, buy bottled water instead of high calorie sweet beverages that are loaded with sugar.

Consult a professional

Always consult a dietitian if you require assistance in putting a meal plan together. In addition, you should always check with your doctor before making any drastic changes to your diet, especially if you are under medication or suffer from any medical condition that has an effect on your diet.
