Lasizwe Dambuza is ready to take his brand to the very top after secretly confirming that he has joined the cast of his first-ever feature film.
Lasizwe’s career has been spent in front of cameras and on people’s screens. It began with his own mobile phone camera which broadcasted his skits and parodies to thousands of screens across the country. His brand grew at lightning pace. Before long he found himself speaking into slightly larger cameras and microphones as his reality show, Fake it Till You Make It made it to television screens as it debuted on MTV Africa. And now he’s about to make a bigger splash than ever before by starring on the silver screen.
Lasizwe spoke to Tshisa Live and revealed that he had just committed to a role in David Kau’s brand new film, Who’s My Daddy. He revealed that he didn’t think that this opportunity would come so soon in his career when he said, “It’s big and I’m excited about it, but I’m very scared about this accomplishment. I didn’t really expect it to come this year. This has been a very great year filled with challenges.”
The reality star also spoke about his childhood dreams of starring in a feature film when he added, “It has been goal to one day feature in a movie. Growing up we used to watch movies and series on TV. We would imitate them and wish you could see yourself on the big screen and hey, here I am.”
Lasizwe will be playing the role of Harrison, a criminal who is reported to be on the police’s most wanted list and tries his best to live the life he feels that he deserves. Tshisa Live adds that shooting on the film has already begun although we’re not sure when it’s expected to hit cinemas.
