While the Ndlovu Youth Choir missed out on winning America’s Got Talent, they definitely still have a bright future ahead of them
The choir returned home a few days ago to a frenzy of fans at the airport.
During an interview on 702 on Thursday afternoon, choir director Ralf Schmitt revealed the exciting news.
Simon who is on the AGT judging panel has in the past signed the likes of Westlife and One Direction.
“We are very excited that Simon Cowell and his company have exercised their option to sign the choir and together with Sony Music in South Africa are working on exciting projects,” Ralf said.
He added that this showed that the choir has an exciting future ahead of them.
“It is a wonderful compliment to these young people because he wouldn’t do that if he didn’t think there is a future for them and the work they have done.”
Ralf did not reveal any further details around the deal or whether they had accepted it yet.
Earlier this week the choir was welcomed home with a R1 million cheque from Limpopo’s MEC for Arts and Culture Thandi Moraka
“Wow!!! Limpopo MEC of Arts and Culture @MorakaThandi just presented us with a MILLION RAND!!!! R500k for the choristers and R500k to develop our music programme. Rea Leboga,” the choir tweeted on their official Twitter account.
