We love to hear positive stories from positive South Africans sharing their talents and love for one another. This is one of those stories!
On Heritage Day this year, Madelé Nelson posted about her experience with ‘superstar’ receptionist-come-fashion-guru, Sbonelo Madlala who helped save the day for a flustered bride and her wedding party. She shared the post and photographs on social media saying “Thank you for saving the day Sbonelo, may God bless your road ahead!”
Here’s how Sbonelo saved the day:
Sbonelo Madlala is a receptionist at a Midlands hotel by day, but is a talented fashion designer during his spare hours. According to Madelé post, Sbonelo studied and worked as an intern at a retail clothing chain store but was forced to give up his career to return home and look after his ill mother.
The talented young man was in the right place at the right time when four desperate bridesmaids approached him at his reception desk for information on anyone who could help resize their bridesmaid dresses at the last minute! According to Madelé, the dresses were three sizes too big!
Not only did Sbonelo help calm them down, he also had a solution!
At 8:30PM, he fetched his own sewing machine, and quickly made the alterations while also entertaining the ladies with his music.
“He is extremely talented, a kind soul and a true angel!” posted Madelé. “What a wonderful country we live in, South Africans caring for one another above and beyond!”
